Welcome to Girl Scouts Service Unit 440!
|
Service Unit 440 Leader meetings have completed for the summer and will start again September 2013.
HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!!! |
What is new in Service Unit 440?
Girl Scout Service unit has two new community partnerships!
Why do we have Service Unit partnerships?
What can your troop do?
What are the partnerships?
Please make a commitment for your Troop to support one or both the new partnerships in the 2013-2014 school year!
Why do we have Service Unit partnerships?
- We would like make the world a better place by connecting Troops in our Service Unit with our community promoting diversity in our lives. Girls can turn these partnerships into Community Service or Take Action projects!
What can your troop do?
- Simple! Sign up online to support a partnership in a specific month. Time commitment will vary from an hour to several hours. The outcome will help teacher our girls great life lessons!
What are the partnerships?
- Friends of the Park - a partnership with the City of Sammamish to make our already great community even better. We are supporting Beaver Lake Park with a variety of tasks to be completed ensuring the park stays nice for users of all ages and species! Click here for more information!
- YWCA Family Village - a partnership with the YWCA Family Village in the Issaquah Highlands. The goal is to promote Girl Scouting in our diverse community and educate YWCA residents about Girl Scouting through hosting events at their location. Help them learn the importance of Scouting! Click here for more information!
Please make a commitment for your Troop to support one or both the new partnerships in the 2013-2014 school year!
Service Unit 440 PLEASE HELP Oklahoma Girl Scouts
Members of Service Unit 440-
The CEO of Girl Scouts in Oklahoma City, OK has reached out to us for help. They are looking for 20 new sleeping bags and 20 new or used mess kits for the 20 Girl Scout families impacted by the devastating tornado. They lost everything, and their Council is offering them FREE camp. They want to provide them with a sleeping bag and mess kit.
Service Unit 440 is known throughout Western Washington as being one of the best to get things done. GSWW has asked us to help with this collection. The camp in Oklahoma is at the end of June, so we need to act quickly. If you personally or your troop want to contribute, please contact me, Heidi Matthews, at rhsmatt@comcast.net. You are welcome to drop off donations at my house.
Thank you so much for your help.
